COVID-19 Community Update

At Whittier Hospital Medical Center, we are working with Los Angeles County of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to respond to any COVID-19 cases in our area. We will continue to screen all patients entering our facility for signs and symptoms of communicable diseases and implement infection prevention and control practices to protect our patients, visitors, and staff.
We are in close communication with the CDC and WHO, and follow their recommendations to ensure patient safety.

We encourage everyone in the community to follow basic infection prevention practices, including washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based hand rub (at least 60% alcohol), covering your cough, avoid touching your eyes, face, and mouth, and avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.

Our emergency management team prepares year-round to respond to events that impact community health and well-being, including virus outbreaks, natural disasters, etc. to ensure that we are here for you when you need us most.

In an abundance of caution and in the best interest of our members and community, we are proceeding with the temporary closure of our Activity Center located at 9210 Colima Road, Suite 110 as well as community activities and events planned at this location. At this time we have not determined the reopening date due to the rapidly changing nature of the situation.

Maternity tours, baby showers and childbirth classes held at the hospital will also be postponed until further notice.
