San Gabriel Valley Medical Center Marks Christmas Eve with Holiday Mass and Special Meal Deliveries to First Responders
San Gabriel, CA — San Gabriel Valley Medical Center (SGVMC) celebrated Christmas Eve with a day of meaningful community outreach, beginning with a morning holiday mass and followed by special Christmas dinner deliveries to local first responders.

The day began with a holiday mass held in the hospital chapel, bringing together hospital leadership, staff, patients, and community members in a spirit of reflection and gratitude. As part of its holiday initiatives, San Gabriel Valley Medical Center also organized a toy drive to bring joy to children in the community.

Tarinder Khatkar, Interim CEO of San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, expressed appreciation for the ongoing support of the community and healthcare team.
“We at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center want to thank our community, nurses, patients, physicians, and their families for their continued support and dedication. As part of our thank you, we held a holiday mass that was enjoyed by our staff, set up a toy drive for the children in our community, and it’s truly an honor for us to give back to our wonderful community heroes today,” said Khatkar.

In the afternoon, Khatkar and SGVMC staff delivered approximately 50 freshly prepared Christmas dinners to the San Gabriel Police Department and Fire Department at their respective locations. The special meals were prepared for officers and firefighters who remained on duty on Christmas Eve, serving the community during the holiday.

Police officers and firefighters expressed their appreciation, thanking San Gabriel Valley Medical Center for more than 60 years of dedication to safeguarding the community’s health.
“To the dedicated officers of the San Gabriel Police Department and the brave firefighters of the San Gabriel Fire Department, we just want to say a heartfelt thank you as we serve them a delicious hot meal on Christmas Eve,” Khatkar said.
“We hope this small gesture of sharing a meal brings a bit of warmth and appreciation for all you do every day.”
Michael McGinty, Chief Nursing Officer of San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, also shared his appreciation, saying, “Thank you to all our heroes who keep our patients and community safe.”
Through these holiday activities, San Gabriel Valley Medical Center reaffirmed its long standing commitment to serving and supporting the community it has cared for more than
six decades.
