San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, a cornerstone of healthcare in the region for more than 60 years, kicked off the holiday season with its cherished annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, honoring the dedication of its doctors, nurses, and staff while spreading joy throughout the community.
The ceremony started with Tarinder Khatkar, Interim CEO thanking the staff and community for their support and dedication over the past 60 years in caring for our patients and their loved ones.
The ceremonial lighting of the tree was performed by Tarinder Khatkar, Interim CEO accompanied by Senior Executive Vice President Linda Marsh. Visibly moved, Ms. Marsh addressed the gathered employees, saying, “I am deeply honored to light this tree and to personally thank each of you for going above and beyond every single day. Your compassion and commitment to our patients and this community inspire us all.”
Among the distinguished guests was San Gabriel City Councilmember John Wu, who praised the hospital’s longstanding service to the area’s multicultural population. “For over six decades, San Gabriel Valley Medical Center has been a trusted partner in meeting the healthcare needs of our diverse community,” Councilmember Wu stated. “We are grateful for your unwavering dedication.”
As always, the event’s biggest celebrity made a grand entrance: Santa Claus with our San Gabriel Valley’s Police Department arrived bearing gifts and holiday cheer for the hardworking physicians, nurses, and medical staff, delighting everyone in attendance.
The celebration not only lifted the spirits of the hospital’s dedicated team but also served as an opportunity for staff and community members to donate new, unwrapped toys for needy children throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
This annual tradition is San Gabriel Valley Medical Center’s way of saying thank you to the extraordinary men and women who make them a beacon of healing and hope. This service, especially during the holidays, reminds us all of the true meaning of this season!
San Gabriel Valley Medical Center has proudly served the healthcare needs of the San Gabriel Valley Community for years with compassion, clinical excellence, and a commitment to the diverse communities it calls home. As we say goodbye to 2025, we welcome the blessings that come with the New Year 2026! We are here to take care of you, when you need it the most!
