嘉惠爾醫院應對中風社區教育

Dr. Arthur Chou is the Director of the Stroke Center at Garfield Medical Center. Here, Dr. Chou stresses the three common causes of stroke and the importance of getting help as quickly as possible if there is even the slightest hint of a stroke. He informed visitors that Garfield Medical Center has been designated by the Joint Commission as a designated stroke center. This means that our hospital is recognized for having the clinical expertise and technology needed for prompt intervention at the first sign of a stroke. Program Coordinator Lisa Zhao also spoke with visitors, informing them of the key warning signs of a stroke. As a nurse, Ms. Zhao said it is important to BE FAST: Check for problems with BALANCE, EYES(vision), FACE (facial drooping), ARM numbness or SPEECH. If you see one or more of these warning signs, TIME is of the essence! Call 911 immediately or come straight to your nearest emergency department.

So, if you suspect any kind of brain issue, don't take any chances. Call 911 or visit our emergency room immediately. When in doubt, check it out!
