Have you ever wondered how a hospital knows if it’s really doing a good job?

One important way is through something called HCAHPS , a national survey that captures what patients thought of their hospital experience, that they take after they’ve gone home.

HCAHPS stands for Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems.

After discharge, patients receive a standardized survey asking key questions about their hospital stay.

HCAHPS is the patient’s voice, and hospitals are listening -

to improve,

to earn your trust,

and to strive for that well-deserved score of “10.”
