Five hospitals earn “A” safety grades, four receive four-star CMS ratings, and three exceed the national median in Leapfrog benchmarking

LOS ANGELES, CA — October 23, 2026 — AHMC Healthcare recognized achievements in patient safety, hospital quality, and patient experience across its hospital network at its quarterly leadership meeting on October 22, 2026.

Five Hospitals Earn “A” Grades for Patient Safety

Five AHMC Healthcare hospitals earned an “A” in the Spring 2026 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a nationally recognized evaluation of hospital patient safety:

Alhambra Hospital Medical Center
Anaheim Regional Medical Center
Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center
Whittier Hospital Medical Center
Seton Medical Center

These grades recognize the hospitals’ efforts to prevent medical errors, reduce patient harm, and maintain high standards of patient safety.

Four Hospitals Earn Four-Star CMS Ratings

Four AHMC hospitals earned four out of five stars in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings, released in August 2026:

Alhambra Hospital Medical Center
Anaheim Regional Medical Center
San Gabriel Valley Medical Center
Whittier Hospital Medical Center

The number of AHMC hospitals receiving four-star ratings increased from one to four over the past year, marking progress in overall hospital quality and performance.

Three Hospitals Exceed the National Median in Leapfrog Benchmarking

According to the 2026 Leapfrog benchmarking report presented at the meeting, three AHMC hospitals exceeded the national median score of 74:

Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center: 81 points, seven points above the national median.
Whittier Hospital Medical Center: 78 points, four points above the national median.
San Gabriel Valley Medical Center: 77 points, three points above the national median.

Patients Praise Attentive and Compassionate Care

The meeting also highlighted recent five-star Google reviews in which patients and families praised care at several AHMC hospitals.

Patients recognized Alhambra Hospital Medical Center for its compassionate and attentive care, Anaheim Regional Medical Center for its helpful and friendly staff, and Garfield Medical Center for the professionalism and compassion of its emergency department nursing team.

The feedback highlights the importance of the everyday interactions that shape a patient’s experience, from a helpful staff member to an attentive nurse.
