Dr. Pornchai Tirakitsoontorn

Medical Director

Pornchai Tirakitsoontorn, M.D. is a CHOC Specialist in Pulmonology board certified in Pediatric Pulmonology and General Pediatrics. He is an associate professor in the department of Pediatrics at UC Irvine. He served his fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at UC Irvine/Miller Children's Hospital. He served as Chief Resident in Pediatrics and completed his residency training program at Seton Hall University. Dr. Tirakitsoontorn received his doctorate at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. He was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Clinical Director of Pediatric Pulmonology Division at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, and he was the Director of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His philosophy is to provide the best care possible to all his patients and watch them grow up healthy.

Dr. Anchalee Yuengsrigul

Chief Pulmonologist at CHOC

Dr. Yuengsrigul is a pulmonologist who specializes in the treatment of asthma, chronic lung disease, apnea and sleep related respiratory disorders. She completed a pulmonology clinical and research fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago and a pediatric pulmonology fellowship at Miller Children's Hospital through the University of California, Irvine. She completed her pediatric residency training at the Ramathibodi Hospital at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand and at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. Her medical training was completed at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. She is board certified in pediatric pulmonology.

Dr. Chin is board certified in pediatric pulmonology and she treats kids and teens in Orange County.

Dr. Susan Gage

Dr. Susan Gage is a board certified pediatric pulmonologist. Dr. Gage completed her fellowship and training in pediatric pulmonary medicine at Stanford Children's/LPCH at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. Dr. Gage residency in pediatric medicine was completed at the University of California, Irvine, CA. Her research focus was in chronic lung disease of infancy or bronchopulmonary dysplasia and she continues to have a special interest in this area.

Dr. Hong is a pulmonologist is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine and she treats kids and teens in Orange County.

Dr. Sunil P. Kamath

Dr. Sunil Kamath is board certified in pediatrics and specializes in pediatric pulmonology. He treats children with conditions of chronic cough, asthma, pneumonia, chronic lung disease of infancy, aerodigestive problems, airway abnormalities, sleep disorders, ventilator dependent patients, and cystic fibrosis. He attended medical school at Saint Louis University. He completed his pediatric internship, residency and fellowship training in Pulmonology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He is the Medical Director of Respiratory, Pulmonary, and Blood Gas Services at CHOC Children's Hospital.

Dr. Neal Nakra

As medical director of the CHOC pediatric sleep program, Dr. Neal Nakra leads the team in performing sleep studies and analyzing data to further the study of relationships between sleep and obesity, metabolic syndrome and other pediatric conditions. Dr. Nakra graduated medical school from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, Texas. He completed his pediatrics residence at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center, New York. He served his pulmonary disease fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Nakra is triple board certified in pediatrics, pulmonology and sleep medicine.

Cecile H. Itagaki RN, MN, CPNP

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Cecile H. Itagaki is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Children's Hospital of Orange County, Division of Pulmonary Medicine. "I have practiced pulmonary medicine at Children's Hospital of Orange County and at WHMC Subacute for over 20 years. My heart is always with children which lead me to work with the Pediatric population. At WHMC, we strive to give our patients exceptional care and to live out their best lives despite being in a hospital setting."
