Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.
All WIC Centers offer breastfeeding information and support, including individual and group education and one-on-one support in person and by telephone; breast pump loans; education on baby behavior and understanding a baby's cues; referral to other needed services; and WIC checks for nutritious foods, with an enhanced quantity and variety for fully breastfeeding women.
