Ophthalmology

In 2008, the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) estimated that 25.2 million people in the United States have 'trouble' seeing. That number includes the blind and visually impaired but it also includes those who have a hard time seeing even when wearing glasses and contacts. As one of our five major senses which we rely on for communication, sensing, and performing daily activities, it is important that we take care of our sight.

Anaheim Regional Medical Center offers clinical care in the area of ophthalmology to help those who have difficulty seeing and our vision care experts treat a wide range of eye conditions that range from: cataracts to vitreoretinal diseases. We encourage everyone, not just those who visit our eye specialists, to have an eye exam periodically as part of their primary care to ensure the overall health of the eyes.

To protect your vision and to keep your eyes healthy, we recommend the following:

Avoid smoking
Control your blood pressure
Eat a healthy diet
Protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses outdoors from the rays of the sun
